Ajisai Japanese Restaurant

Outstanding!!! I ordered a roll combo and the quality of the fish blew my mind. Just incredibly tender, flavorful top notch salmon, yellowtail, tuna. And it came in like 10 minutes. I thought I was in Defending Your Life (1991). If you're a Millennial you won't get that reference. Absolutely recommend.

One of the best Sushi restaurants in manhattan. Service is excellent too. I have eaten there several times as well. One time my son choked in his food (he was only 3 yrs old) and the ladies in the restaurant were so accommodating.

Wow. amazing sushi!! and a great lunch special. that baby yellowtail was so fresh and buttery. A+++++ sushi was all fresh and delicious, well packed and the delivery guy was on time. Will DEFinitely order again!

Excellent food, always super fast, fresh and tasty. Will keep ordering when I am in the mood. I do live very close to this place.

I order from ajisai probably 5 or 6 times a week, and have for the past two years. i'm a complete sushi snob; it is almost impossible to find great sushi at affordable prices in nyc. Sushi in the city is either way overpriced yet absolutely stunning... or is "grab and go" which does the trick well enough when you're hungry but isn't anything notable.

Ajisai is the not only exceptionally fresh (IGNORE REVIEWS WHICH STATE OTHERWISE THOSE PEOPLE HAVE COMPLETELY LOST IT), but delivery is generally 30 mins or less and the food is packed nicely and hot.

Get the shrimp tempura roll, spider-man roll and bite-me rice. And enjoy

The BEST General Tso's Chicken in town! (And yes, oddly enough from a Japanese restaurant) You won't find anything like it anywhere else. The sauce is uniquely sweet in all the right ways- think Japan meets Kansas City. Also Ajisai is special in that it serves the sauce on the side as to keep the chicken breading crisp. The chicken is served in strips which I usually cut with a knife, dipping each bite in the sauce before eating. And do ask for extra sauce- it's well worth the additional charge.

They are very nice, i have received delivery a few times and food is good. Tonight for some reason the lid of the soup had come loose or something, so when i put the bag down, the soup spilled all over. I called to let them know and they immediately sent a new order of soup to replace it without giving me a hard time. I got the replacement very quickly! Their delivery is definitely the fastest in the area overall, too.

This could very well be my favorite sushi place in Manhattan (although I have only tried between 7 and 10). Their special rolls are amazing! I'm always hesitant to order Sushi takeout, but it was almost as good as eating at the restaurant (I missed their ambiance). Takeout was very fresh and any sauces that usually come on the sushi were served on the side to preserve the freshness of your rolls which I appreciated.

If you're looking to satisfy a large appetite and your wallet, the combos are the way to go! Also, if you specify "extra wasabi" or "extra soy sauce" they will actually add it to your order, unlike other restaurants out there. I usually order from here once or twice a month and the quality and service is always the same - great food, and timely delivery (under the suggested delivery time). Enjoy!
